Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)
A qualification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) can
open up a varied and exciting career path. There is regular demand in
Australia for qualified teachers to work on programs for international students
and migrants. And the possibilities are endless for those wanting to
teach abroad.
For those who are new to the area, the Graduate Diploma is a great starting point, providing a practical introduction to classroom practice. For those who are already practising teachers of English as a Second Language (ESL) or English as a Foreign Language (EFL), the Master of Education (TESOL) provides an opportunity to reflect on practice and to investigate latest developments in theory. Teachers of other languages will find that the practice and theory that makes up the TESOL programs to be fully applicable to other language learning contexts.
